VOSS.farming "KAPPA 7 SOLAR" energiser, 12 W solar panel + 12 V battery

This kit includes a rechargeable battery and a solar panel to extend the lifespan of the battery.

This solar kit has a shock strength of 10.500 volts and a shock power of 0.48 joules. The energiser is equipped with monitor SMDs for checking the energiser, the battery and the fence. This means you are well informed about the status of the fence and the battery. It is suitable for medium-length fences with little vegetation. You can use it to keep various types of animals, such as chickens, pigs, cattle, ponies and horses. The lead-acid battery is located in the energiser housing and is connected to the solar unit and the energiser. The energiser is suitable for mobile use. The package also includes connection cables and a grounding rod.

The 12 Ah lead-acid battery is an AGM rechargeable battery. On the top side of the lead-acid battery there is a charge controller, this prevents the battery from overloading.

The 12-watt solar panel is delivered with brackets and connection cables. The solar panel cable connects directly to the charge controller.

Important:

Although you do not need to buy and dispose of batteries, you would still require to recharge the battery time to time when there is not sufficient sun.

Facts about the AGM rechargeable battery:

AGM stands for Absorbent Glass Mat, which means the same as lead-acid. A fibreglass mat is soaked with sulphuric acid. Unlike conventional electric fence batteries, the AGM battery has no liquid that could leak out. The AGM battery's passive discharge is low due to its comparatively low interior resistance. Even if you don't use it for a longer period of time, you will still have sufficient capacity to keep your animals. This is especially significant if you don't need the energiser during the winter, because it can be used again immediately in the spring. An AGM battery is less sensitive to deep discharge. It also provides a good capacity in cold temperatures, which is not always the case with normal lead-acid batteries. The lifespan of an AGM battery is also longer.
