Why do I need a fence tensioner?
Tensioners can be installed into longer stretches of fence to prevent sagging and drooping. Depending on the model, the conducting material can be re-tensioned so that the fence system always looks maintained. When using wire as the conducting material, a temperature regulating spring is worth having. Wire expands and contracts depending on the temperature. The regulating spring absorbs these variations and the fence remains tensioned. If using electric fence tape then it is essential that the tape is tensioned, otherwise constant movement in the wind can easily lead to the conductor breaking.
