Garden gate with electric fence

Plots of land are often surrounded by a garden fence. In some cases it is necessary to electrify these "normal fences". If this fence has an access point such as a gate, then care must be taken to install the fence in such a way as to guarantee that the electric fence remains permanently live.

It is a great advantage to be able to open the gate without turning off the electricity.

In order to safely carry the current from one side of the access point to the other and, if necessary, across the access point itself, you need to use a connection cable such as the high-voltage fence and lead out cable, item no. 32601.

  1. 1. Connect the section of electric fence before and after the gate using an insulated high-voltage lead out cable. Lay this deep enough into the soil (around 30–50cm) and connect each end to the wires either side of the gate using electric fence connectors.
  1. 2. If you also want to electrify the gate itself, connect the electric wire on the gate to the electric fence section adjacent to the gate hinges.
  1. 3. If your electric fence uses the positive / negative principle, then connect the positive wire to the positive wire and the negative wire to the negative wire of the corresponding fence section.
