Electric fence types
The following types of electric fence exist:
A stationary fence, also known as a permanent fence, stays in the same place for several years and is particularly sturdy and robust. It is usually built using recycled posts, metal t-posts or sturdy wooden posts that are embedded deep into the ground. High-quality conducting materials are used such as steel wire with zinc/aluminium alloys item no. 44584 or the premium Horsewire item no. 44952.
This type of fence stays in the same place for several months and is usually put up at the start of the season and taken down again at the end. Semi-stationary fences are often built using wooden posts, recycled posts or t-posts with plastic line posts. Common conducting materials include polywire, tapes and ropes made from plastics.
Mobile fences can be set up in many different locations and can be put up and taken down several times throughout the year. Easy to install plastic posts, including polywire, tapes and ropes made from plastics, are mostly used. Allround metal posts (item no. 44386 and 44387) are used to stabilise the fence.
