8. Google Analytics
This website uses Google Analytics, a web analytics service offered by the company Google Inc (Google). Google Analytics uses so-called cookies, small tags, which are stored on the hard disk of your computer and allow the analytics of the use of the website.
The information originated by the cookies through the usage of this website would be transmitted and stored in a Google data collection server in the USA.
In case of activation of the IP anonymization on this website, the IP address will be abbreviated by Google within Member States of the European Union or other parties of the Agreement on the European Economic Area.
Only in exceptional cases the full IP address would be sent to a Google data collection server in the USA and abbreviated there. On behalf of the operator of this website, Google will only use this information to evaluate your use of the website, to compile reports about website activity and to provide the use of other connected services to the website operator. The IP address sent by your browser within the scope of Google Analytics will not be associated to other Google data. You may determine whether cookies should be stored by activating the corresponding browser settings. However, we inform you that as far as the cookies are not allowed, our website may not be used in its entirety.
You may also prevent the coverage of the generated data and the use of the website related data (including your IP address) by Google as well as the processing of these data by Google. If you wish to opt out you should click following link to download and install the add-on: http://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout?hl=en.
In view of the discussion on the use of analytical tools with complete IP addresses, we would like to inform you that this website uses Google Analytics with the extension "_anonymizeIp()" so that IP addresses are only further processed in abbreviated form to prevent them being directly linked to a particular individual.
10. Social-Plugins: Facebook, Twitter and Google+ Button
The social plugins of the providers Facebook, Google+ and Twitter also transfer personal data without interaction (for example, Facebook sends the number of "Likes" directly to the visitor’s browser recording the individual browsing habits).
Therefore, we have implemented a solution for the social plugins from Facebook ("Like" button), Google+ (+1 button) and Twitter (Twitter button). With this solution, so-called 1-click solution of heise, no data is transferred to the social networks before the first click. Contact between social network and user will only take place when the user actively clicks the share button.
There are no links (hyperlinks) before clicking the respective icons of the corresponding social network. A link is only made by clicking on the icons Facebook, Twitter and Google+. However, if the user clicks on one of these graphics, he will be first informed as follows asking him for his consent:
Beginning of the Facebook declaration of consent
End of the Facebook declaration of consent
Beginning of the Google+ declaration of consent
End of the Google+ declaration of consent
Beginning of the Twitter declaration of consent
End of the Twitter declaration of consent
Only if you agree with the data transmission to Facebook, Google or Twitter – by clicking – the corresponding plugin will be activated. Data will be already transmitted to the social networks by clicking, without need of further intermediate steps. You can also actively share the content on the respective social networks.
A script retrieves also how often has a page been previously shared or tweeted. It contacts the services over the application programming interfaces (APIs) and retrieves the numbers. The search is done from the server and only the server address, instead of the IP address of the user, will be transmitted to Facebook, Google and Twitter. The user remains invisible, at least for the social networks, as long as he does not click on the share contents link.
Once the respective social plugin is displayed, personal data will be transmitted to Facebook, Google or Twitter: Your consent may be revoked at any time with effect for the future.
